It is not an easy task to choose the right colors in your web design. Like sale pitches and testimonials, speak with the viewer on the slower logical stage. The colors communicate on an emotional level. Good color has a positive impact on the visitor’s imagination and prescient of the brand in standard. The clashing colors irritate the visitors and lead them to try another website.

In brief, color is the quickest and most direct manner of putting a significant first impact. While it can appear overwhelming before everything, you can, without problems, nail down your alternatives with simple know-how of the technology behind the color theory.

What Does Color Mean?

Choosing a color is more than a matter of personal preferences. Each shade has a distinct meaning and might impact humans in a particular way. That is why color is so complicated and crucial for web design, and it has the electricity to carry the right message about your commercial business right away.

Different colors have different meanings and trigger other emotions. The warm colors like red (active, love, emotional, intensity), orange (warm, success, determinant, friendly), pink (sweet, romantic, soft, playful), yellow (energetic, fresh). These colors are called warm colors. They have a powerful impact on the visitors. Alone they are stimulators, it's better to mix them with neutral colors.

The neutral colors are grey (respect, modern, intelligent), black (powerful, serious, bold), brown (earth, home, simplicity). These colors are used to provide balance to a website and used to tone down the primary colors. 

 Here are also some cool colors like green (fresh, relaxed, peaceful), blue (trust, calm), purple (power, luxury). These colors affect the most viewer.

Color Wheel Main Group

Colors are historically shown in a coloration wheel, and from this wheel, we can separate colors into three fundamental organizations: primary, secondary, and tertiary.

The three primary colors are red, blue, and yellow. These combinations are the base colors that make up all the other colors on the color wheel. 

Mix the primary colors collectively, and you get the secondary shades. These are orange, purple and green. 

Tertiary colors are produced from the center colors like yellow-green and blue green. They are created by using blending a primary color and a secondary color.

Relationships of Colors

There are two types of terms to describe the colors.

  • Complementary colors
  • Analogues colors 

Type of Colors in Design

There are two different color system. 


It is the short form of Red, Green and Blue, the three primary colors. It is used on television, computers, and screens.


It is the pigments of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key which is used in print.

The RGB is the system used on web designs.

Color Theory 

It is the practice of using meaning behind the color to bring about its sensory experience. Use meaningful colors. Be planned when deciding on the colors of your designs. Don't use color without any reason. Give time during the selection of your colors than using random colors. Instead, use colors that can be appropriate for your target market, the message that the customer wishes you to bring, and the general feeling you need the user to revel in your website. Choose the color which shows your intention and have an impact on your viewer's mind.
